best AI that writes story software

Are you a novelist, poet, or fiction writer? Do you enjoy writing stories, and do you want to get more done in less time, I have put four AI that writes stories to the test, and I want to share the result with you in this post.

The test is a simple one, what I did was to give the four AI story generators the same story prompt to compose a story. I believe this is fair game, everyone got the same questions…

Since not all AI software can write stories. Many ai text generators are developed to write sales copy; this makes it an important task to research the best ai story generator.

But, first, is it even possible for an AI writing machine to generate a good story?

Can AI Write a Story?

At first, I doubted the ability of these AI story writers to put out anything worth reading. That’s why I decided to do the test and see how easy or difficult it is, and the originality of the content, too.

After my short test, I was completely blown away by the content output of a few AI story writers. The story was so fascinating, and original, based on the plot, and conclusion.

From what I see, we are not far from reading books, novels, and fiction that will be completely written by machines.

How Good is The Quality of AI Content?

First, it is important to note that the quality of any AI-generated content depends on how well the AI model was trained.

Most AI content writers use the third-generation Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT-3) model, and other big datasets to generate text like a human.

The quality of the content output depends on how well the developer (OpenAI) has trained this model of artificial intelligence.

AI models that have been trained on very large datasets will produce consistent and high-quality content better than machines trained with limited data analysis.

The quality of ai generated stories can be broken down into three categories:

1. Quality of the Story

The prompt of the story can partially have an impact on the overall quality. This is why it’s important to give a clear direction to the AI when writing the prompt.

It will help the artificial intelligence bots in the right direction.

However, there are a few questions you need to ask yourself before publishing the story,

How well does the storyline line up with human expectations? Is the story believable? Do you feel like you’re reading about real people or fairy tales?

2. Story Structure

Is the story structured in a logical manner that keeps the readers in suspense and wanting to read till the end?

How are the characters, events, and scenes, introduced to the readers in the story?

You need to watch out for weaknesses in the plot of the story, and any obvious flaws with the story structures.

  3. Writing Style

Every writer has his style and tone that set the pace for writing; this is something not found in ai writers. Though we can set the tone for the story, it’s never guaranteed that the outcome will be as intended.

You need to check if the language and phrasing feel unnatural or awkward. How does it match your audience’s expectations?

Look out for any spelling or grammar errors that might slip through. There are free tools to analyze content for grammar and spelling errors.

Here’s a list of 8 grammar and spelling check tools.

Advantages of using AI to write Your Stories

AI is a great tool for writers, novelists, and fiction writers who want to create engaging, fascinating, and touching stories.

It can help you to create content that is relevant, insightful, and touches the soul of your audience.

Here are some of the advantages of using AI to write your stories:

Increase Creativity

AI allows you to express yourself in a way that was never possible before. You can use it to write anything you want, from short news articles to long novels.

You don’t have to be a great writer to publish content today. AI can help you write content in any field of study.

Free of Emotions

Human beings are known to have emotions. Sometimes this emotion gets in the way of our sense of reason and influences our decision-making.

AI does not have emotions, therefore unbiased in its report of information. AI writers will always report the story as it is without any thought of feelings towards a character.

Lower Production Cost

From the thought of writing a story, coming up with a storyline, writing, hiring proofreaders and editors, to publishing, it has never been cheap to write a book.

AI will save you from many of the processes involved in writing a book. Most AI is capable of writing error-free content. This will save you the cost of hiring a proofreader.

Save Time

It takes an AI a fraction of the time it takes a human writer to write the same book or story.

To get your book ready, you only need to come up with a good title and the story plot, that’s all the AI needs to write and complete the story.

Disadvantages of Using AI to write Stories or Books

There are drawbacks to using ai to write your stories or books. Let’s walk through a few of the reasons you need to know.

Unpredictable Story Conclusion

It is impossible to predict how story writing by an AI will end. Most AI writes the next word based on previous input.

And if you as the author only have limited access to some of the information about the characters in the story, AI might end up writing an entirely different story from what you’d had originally planned.

Audience Appeal

Another disadvantage is that there is no guarantee that the AI will be able to write stories that will appeal to or resonate with your readers and fit your personality.

AI is trained to read the Internet and learn from the data, but it can not understand your audience or your brand identity.

And some AI will just write stories that feel or appear to be a regurgitation of another story on the internet. It will lack creative thinking which is something your audience will notice upon reading the content.

Lack Intention

For us humans, when we write articles, stories, marketing materials, and sales copy or whatever, we intend to get something out of it and pass a message across to the audience; so we become picky about our choice of words in the article.

AI doesn’t intend to get anything out of its content. Most GTP-3 story generator AI neural networks write content by calculating the next probabilities.

The words used in the story by AI might not align with your message, audience type, and purpose. This can be a very big disadvantage for your business and put you in loss of audience and revenue.

A good copy conveys a message to the reader that aligns with the business objectives.

Now that we’ve discussed the pros and cons of using AI to write your stories, let’s explore a list of AI story generators worth your time and investment.

1. Writesonic

writesonic ai homepage

If you’re looking for the best AI story generator based on a prompt, Writesonic is the tool. The best part about Writesonic for composing stories is the creativity and the ability to conclude the story.

Take a look at the stories below.

I asked Writesonic to write a story about a Father and his son that used to abuse the traffic, but something unimaginable happened to them on one faithful Saturday; here is what Writesonice came up with – 3 different versions.

I’d titled the Story “My dead Father” and give it a bit of a description to follow…

Just take a look, you’ll be shocked!

Second variations for the story plot.

And the third story variation from Writesonic…

That was amazing, my jaw dropped when reading the second variation – the second one was it for me. How can an AI write such a touching story like that?

Well, Writesonic just did.

The concluding part of the story in the second story was touching.

But that’s not all for the test…

I analyzed the content through a free plagiarism checker tool for the originality test, and the content was 100% original according to the tool – SmallSEOTools.

Copyai is another artificial intelligence writing software that can write stories in a fraction of the time. It comes with several templates for many use cases including storytelling.

I give the tool a trial and enter the same storyline as with Writesonic, here is the output from Copyai.

First story variation…

1st story by Copy ai

Second variation…

2nd story generated by Copyai

And lastly, the third story…

The story was good, but not as good as that of Writesonic – in my opinion. Writesonic did better with the story plots.

Nevertheless, Copyai is a good free ai text generator for many purposes, it all depends on individual creativity and the amount of input information.

Copyai Free Trial

No Credit Card is required, either.

Copy ai offers a 7day free trial of its premium plan, thereafter, you will downgrade to the starter plan if you did not upgrade.

Inferkit is an awesome AI that writes stories better than many of its kind. It requires little text input to write a good story.

Using the tool is straightforward for beginners.

There is no template, and no outline to fill, but you can instruct the ai to include specific keywords in the text; this is a good option if you’re aiming to target a certain word.

4. SassBook AI

SassBook ai homepage

SassBook AI is another popular AI story generator software that can compose your story in a few seconds. It works similarly to other AI story generators based on prompts.

You enter the story prompt, and select the creative level, when you’re done, click on the complete button.

SassBook AI generates a maximum of 100 words at a time. So you need to continuously click the continue button for every next 100 words.

For each generation’s story, you can like it or dislike it. The liked generation will be added to the article.

So for the test, I enter the same story prompt in the SassBook AI story generator and click on the complete button. Here is the story generated by SassBook;

The story prompt…

Well, that was fair enough to read…

SassBook Free Plan

SassBook offers a free plan for its AI software. It allows a maximum of 20 generations per day and 50 words per generation.

Also, you have access to the SassBook headline generator and the AI Summarizer.

Editors Picks – Best AI Story Generator Tool

If you seek my honest opinion on which is the best AI that writes stories among these four, Writesonic wins.

Writesonic is more user-friendly and easy to use, and the consistency at which it produces quality content is far better compared to other ai on the list.

Copy AI is another good option, but it lacks the quality and consistency of WriteSonic. It could be a good InferKit alternative. InferKit and SassBook don’t generate the full story as other AI, they pick up words from the last inputs.

Conclusion…AI That Writes Stories

AI story generators should be a good way to boost your creative juice and get inspiration, it is not a replacement for human story writers.

Use it to save time, beat deadlines, and occasionally solve writers’ blogs and explore other angles to the story plots.

Free ai writing generator has come to change the writing industry, and that is a fact no one can deny. The way we write and the entire process has changed.

But there is no substitute for quality content that aligns with your business needs, generates leads, and converts visitors into paying customers.
