Let’s get started!
When I stepped into blogging back in July of 2012, I knew nothing about it (Blogging). I was like most people who dabbled into blogging by accident – a complete novice.
Well, that didn’t bother me for anything because I know there is always the first time for everything. Once you take out the first time, you’re going forward and making progress.
So now, I just can’t imagine enough how many places I have touched online to have reached where I am today that people want me as a coach/mentor on blogging and internet marketing.
Is funny when I remember some years ago. I had to open an email account under the watchful eye of a friend.
Who is more like a brother to me.
But today, when the subject of internet marketing is discussed and how money can be made from it…I can show him how BIG the rabbit hole is.
He still wonders how effective I’m making use of laptops and the internet to my advantages. Teaching others how to do the same thing am doing.
You too can move from a novice to an expert level “only” if you’re ready to follow these three simple steps. And along the line…make the sacrifices.
Yes, there is no gain without pain.
Neil Patel of Quicksprout is one of the best internet marketers the internet ever produces, right?
While John Chow, Pat Flynn, and Ewen Chia are some of the super affiliates this internet business model ever saw.
But have you thought about this?
These people once knew nothing about their industry.
They are once like you and me when we’re just getting started with this crazy thing called blogging or internet marketing.
They are clueless, and can’t figure out what’s the next positive thing to do that is guaranteed to bring in success.
So how do they move from that stage to the next?
The answer is simple, but with lots of twist and sacrifices…
#1. Acquire knowledge.
Yes, that’s it!
The only thing you need to move from where you’re today to where you want to be tomorrow is to acquire the right knowledge. This knowledge is the bridge between you and your dreamland.
Have you seen a man who is a successful professional doctor without first, acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to excel in such a field?
Of course not!
It doesn’t matter if you’re not so good in SEO. Even if you have never heard of the concept before. You don’t know how to blog. You don’t know how the internet works…don’t worry, everyone has a beginning.
Just take the first step and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Follow top blogs that write on relevant topics. Subscribe to their newsletter. Follow them on twitter and like them on Facebook. Read constantly their blogs and make it a habit to always research for the information you need.
So how do you begin your learning process?
Since you’re new to this terrain and don’t know how to figure your way around…follow the below advice.
- Join Bloggers Communities.
Communities of bloggers are a very good avenue to kick starts your learning process. The amount of valuable information and knowledge you get in these places can’t be measured in terms of monetary cost.
My first blogger’s community I joined is a group of bloggers called Bloggers Lab on Facebook.
This group of people like-minded help in no small measure to shaped my very humble self-blogging career to where it is today.
I learned and discover a great deal of information in this group and the good news is that there are tons of niche related groups available today on Facebook and numerous other places on the internet you can join.
- Read Related Books.
This phrase is as true as ever. If you want to become a doctor, read books that dedicate its teachings to how to become a great doctor.
One of the best books I ever read on blogging is the one author by Darren Rowse and Chris Garret “Secret for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income”. You can click on the image on the right to check it out on Amazon.
It worth reading.
A trip to Amazon bookstore will present you with tons of useful books on blogging that will serve as an eye-opener to the world in your front.
Acquiring knowledge is just half of the journey to build a better blog, the real battle is in the strategical implementations of what and things you’ve learned.
How do you know that those tricks or tips you’ve read on blogger “A” blog are working as he has said it to be if you don’t implement it?
Most of the SEO blogs you read today are born out of the blogger’s frustrations to reach Google top ten result page.
In the process of finding out what works and what’s not, he tested out so many tricks and tactics which resulted in gaining valuable experiences over time that worth sharing with others.
Let me share with you some behind the scene you’re not opportune to see about my own blogging journey.
When I started this blog, I don’t like writing and not just that, I don’t even know how or what to write. This is because I have no story to tell, especially in blogging for money.
So what did I do?
So I devote my time to learning from these two blogs, and from there I knew other authority blogs like Entrepreneur-journey and the likes.
This stage I have explained in step one above. I started learning by reading their blog daily and putting into practices things I learned from reading their posts.
One of the finest things I learned or observed closely from reading these two blogs is their content structures.
There is these pattern their content is structured that makes reading pleasing and inviting to the eye. I observe this closely and get back to my blog to see how things look.
I was embarrassed.
My eyes were opened to the ugly-looking structures I have been written my content ever since.
So I changed.
I practice on my blog what I just discover and believe to be the right way to content structures.
And the result shows an increase in page view and time on site.
My next blog project very soon is in search engine optimization and website traffic. why do I choose or wants to blog on this topic?
Over the years here at CyberNaira, one of the greatest challenges I have faced is getting to know the “basic” on how to reach Google’s top ten results for your target keywords.
I have read so many theories and put to use so many strategies, tactics, tricks and just about anything you can think of to this regards. Some have been positive. Many just proved to be a waste of time, resources and energy.
So, I believe is the time I start to share my experience with the rest of the world in the SEO industry.
This takes us to the final stage of building a better blog.
#3. Start Teaching Others.
There is no good thing after you have acquired knowledge, implement it to validate what works and what’s not. But you decide to keep your success stories to yourself.
No! That will be too bad of you.
But there is something you need to be aware of here before rushing out to teach others what you “think” you know.
“Validation is important” – you need to have tested, tried, analyze and discover what is practically working from what might just be a fluke.
When you’re certain that a strategy you’re using to achieve a particular success is at least 80% of the time positive. Guarantee to give you the required or expected result, then you can freely share it with others.
You need to have tested, implement and confirm it to be working and good enough to share with others.
This is one of the reasons it is not advice able for a beginner to start a blog on making money online niche, why?
You need to show practical examples that you’re actually making money from your blogging activities for people to take you seriously.
If you’re just writing on how to make $$$ online without showing case studies, income report, no proof of earnings, etc…Then people will consider you just another blogger on the blogosphere.
You don’t want that. You want to be seen as an expert in your industry, you want to be the go-to guy, right?
So learn it, do it, and then…teach it.
