WordPress Themes – Yoast Releases Three Themes

Joost De Valk,  developer of the number one self acclaimed popular WordPress SEO  plugin – WordPress SEO by Yoast – add another mind-blowing product to their achieves – Yoast WordPress Themes.

This indeed is another great achievements by Yoast and looking at these themes from an SEO angle, it’s certain these WordPress themes by Yoast are good if not better options to consider either you want to build a new blog from scratch or redesign your existing ones.

According to Joost De valk on his blog, the project is over a year in the making when  Mijke joined Yoast in September of 2012 and they decide to combine her extra ordinary knowledge in designing and that of search engines optimization by Yoast together to develop themes that will not only look good but also guarantee its SEO optimized.

And the better part of these themes is that,  they all run on the genesis frame-work. This is what Yoast have to say on their blog:

We’re releasing 3 themes today, all of them very different but all of them share a lot of functionality too. They’re all Genesis child themes, as we believe in the Genesis framework. We’ve done “some” work on it though: we’ve fully integrated the Genesis frameworks core features and our own theme specific features with WordPress’ cores theme customizer, leading to functionality like this:

Unique Features of Yoast themes.

  • All Yoast themes run on the genesis frame-work and all child themes are SEO friendly and themes comes with sticky menus.
  • Have an awesome full screen design with a responsive mobile version that comes with hamburger menu.
  • Can be customized to your taste and comes with 10 different colors to choose from.
  • Gives you an option of 3 main layout to choose from and lots of widget to fully customized it to your look and style.

On February 11 of this month, Yoast announced on their website the release of their first three WordPress themes -

  1. Vintage.
  2. Versatile.
  3. Tailor made.

All three themes are child themes, share almost same functionality and run on the Genesis frame-work. This means you must have the Genesis Framework install before these themes can be installed and use successfully.

Yoast, the developer of these themes has make sure of its regular support and updates along with each updates of your WordPress installation software. And you will receive updates and support for the period of your license been active.

It cost $59 per year for one site, $99 for five sites licenses and $199 for twenty sites including support for which site that has a valid license. Though, according to Yoast, themes can be used anywhere but only sites with a valid license will receive updates from the developer.

According to readers feedback on their blog, it seems Tailor made theme which comes with an integrated newsletter subscription form at the header is already gaining users interest and could be the next WordPress theme to beat.

What do you think of this movement by Yoast entering into WordPress themes market? What do you think will be next move by Studiopress who are currently enjoying the BIG share of the theme market?

  1. Thanks for writing this, Shamsudeen. It’s interesting that Yoast is getting into the Themes business. With the massive success they got with the “WordPress SEO by Yoast” plugin, it’s obvious they have some tricks up their sleeves that they used to make these themes rock!

And of course, from a marketing perspective, they already have a lot of previous customers that will buy these themes, at least lots of them will buy based on the trust they have developed with Yoast all these years.

Regarging the “$59 per year for one site, $99 for five sites licenses and $199 for twenty sites”, the question that now comes to mind is – will most bloggers cough out that much money when they can get other very good themes for free?

Perhaps those who have the money and who see the need, :)

Anyway, thanks for sharing this on the Internet marketing social site, Kingged.com. I have crowned “kingged” this and hope others do too.

    • Thank Kingsley, nice seeing you here and of course, your wonderful insightful comments. Lets see how far Yoast can go with this one and hope they hit it big just the way it was with their SEO plugin.
Though, I would have loved to try Yoast theme due to SEO reason, cause when it comes to that, I think Yoast will be ahead of studio-press WordPress theme.
Thanks for coming and adding your voice to this.

      • You are welcome, Shamsudeen. We all at Kingged love visiting and connecting with the blogs that share their awesome KINGLIKE content on Kingged.com :)

About the theme, yes, you are right – it will be worth trying out to see what huge SEO difference it will have. They definitely have the years of SEO track record to make a big SEO difference, I think.

Thanks again, for writing this and sharing it on Kingged.com. We look forward to more awesome KINGLIKE content from you in the coming days!

  2. Its a good one that Yoast has come up with another “mind boggling” themes.

The Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress has been a success ( I stand to be corrected) and it would not be difficult to see these themes pushing Yoast’s popularity further.

However, I will align my thoughts with Kingsley : “will most bloggers cough out that much money when they can get other very good themes for free?”

I see these themes hitting big for Yoast with popular bloggers and users of the Genesis Framework rather than the average bloggers!

Its still good to know this release!

I have left the above comment in kingged.com – the content aggregation, syndication, social bookmarking, and networking community for Internet marketers, where this post was found, shared, and “kinged”.

    • Good coming Jeri,
Thanks for your frequent visit and those valuable contributions.
Like you, I was excited too but come to think of it, do you think $59 for this themes are not some way above an average blogger? Consider this price doesn’t include the frame-work to make the child theme work. What do you think?
Thanks for coming and have a blessed day.

  5. Jacqueline Gum (Jacquie) says:

Thanks for the update. I’ve been using their SEO plug-in forever…I love it. So I will check these out

    • Thanks Jacgueline, is nice seeing you here and adding your voice to this. Yes, Yoast SEO plugin is widely used by many webmasters, hope they enjoy same acceptance and popularity with these themes.
      Thanks for coming.

  6. To be honest, I’m kind of disappointed with their design and also their pricing plan. But you’re right, since he got large customers database/audience, I’m pretty sure few of them are still going to buy the themes. Overall, I’m 100% the themes are well-coded, just the design aren’t fit for the amount they charge for it.
