One of the most effective ways of building successful blog community is to write a successful series of post that covers and explore a certain topic over time on your blog. A very good old but goodie strategy to make readers always check back on your blog to see if you’ve update the topic.
There are certain reasons a blogger might want to embark on creating series of post on same topics apart from the above mentioned reason: The topic might consist of large or broad areas, this might lead to writing too long post that may or may not be suitable for the blog reader, depending on the type of niche and blog readers.
For instance, writing on how to create a blog starting from registering your domain name and hosting, installing WordPress in cpanel, installing plugins, changing themes to publishing your first post might consist of long long post length if you aim at putting everything together in a single post. You might decided to break each section of this into series of post each day.
While writing a series of post seems like a big hurdle at first, it really doesn’t need be like that. Following are some sort of things to put forward so you can get the grip on it:
#1. Determine Your Post Series Topic.
Like writing a single post on your blog, the key reason to a successful series of blog post is identifying your topic on which you build your post on. Carefully choose your topic, and be sure is good enough to amount to series of quality blog post.
It will or may turn negative on you if you write on a topic that could have been better put off in a single post and you just drag it into multiple blog post just because you want to write series of post on your blog.
And be careful also not to write on topics that could in themselves a complete blog niche, so as not to kill yourself before your audience even get a chance of seeing your series of post.
#2. List down your point.
Now that you’ve identify your main post topic, is time to brainstorm on series of points or bullet list that could help further split your post into series of good quality contents.
As you jots down this list of points, they don’t necessary mean your last post list. In fact some won’t make the post when published. But is good to draw from and serve as guide to your series of post.
#3. Save your Note.
It is a good blogging practice to always write your post in advance and save as draft either on your publishing platform or notepad. Save each point with their corresponding titles.
This is good to later work on as you start publishing each post in your series. You don’t have to start thinking of where to start or what to write next.
#4. Craft your Headline.
This is the most crucial aspect of your post series, like any other articles, the first and only factors that determine the success of your content.
Take your time in doing this, it is what stand between your readers and your post series been read. If the headline doesn’t convinced the readers in your first post of the series, then the rest that follow are just as dead as not existing.
This post is not aimed at teaching how to write headline that do well.

#5.Write An Introductory Post.
Now, we’ve really gone far but all your work are kept secret. You alone knows about it, you need to get the audience notice about what sort of post they should expect in the coming days.
This where introductory post comes in, this post is not part of your series of post but an announcement post that tells your reader like, hey! from now till Tuesday coming week I will be writing on how to make $1000 online in 30 minutes without turning on your computer.
Hmmm! That headline sound terrific, isn’t it?
But you get the trick?
You’ve made your readers know that a marathon of post will be updating on your blog in the coming days. Set the date, be precise and this will add to the readers anticipation if your headline do grab their attention.
Also, help in kicking their gear that you need to get motivated to complete the task. You don’t want to not deliver what you’ve announced. This is a good way to go past one limits in life.
In your introduction post, tell your readers to subscribed to your blog feed so as not to miss any post in the series. Another strategy to get more blog subscribers, if your post title really catch their attention and make them wanting to read the series, they will subscribe.
Your introductory post should highlight some key important benefits about your series post:
a. Why you pick the topic.
b. The effect of the problem to the society.
c. The benefits of reading the series.
D. The benefits to the readers as well.
#6. publish Your First post in the series.
The next post after your introductory post certainly should be the first in the series of post, that’s what your readers would expect and that’s what you promised. Hit the published button and post your first post in the series.
It’s advisable to keep the posting one per day, so as not to get your readers hanging if you keep posting one in four days or weekly. And also, don’t go over posting two or more post in the series each day, you want your readers to read and follow your series. Don’t overwhelm them with too many content to read.
#7. Link All Post Together.
This is not just good only for your post in series, but for the entire articles on your blog. Make sure you link to the earlier post in the series from within the opening sentence or paragraph, this way readers can easily navigate through the entire post on the series.
Inter link the newest to the earlier and vice vicer.
#8. Rounding up On your series.
Now, we’ve all come to the concluding part of this article, thanks for reading through till this point. Is time for your post series to come to an end and your readers have their take away.

An article that even a first time visitor to your blog could easily understand what you’re talking about.
